Firoozeh Dumas, the author of Funny in Farsi and Laughing Without an Accent, reports on her site that ABC will be shooting a pilot based on Funny In Farsi.
This is the first step in a long process. If they like the pilot, it will become a series.
Funny In Farsi was published by Random House in 2003. It’s based on a collection of stories from her childhood and how her family coped with American culture. The book was on the LA Times and SF Chronicle bestseller lists.

Sepandar Mazgan, a day of love and earth that was celebrated by ancient Persians. The actual date is February 17 (29th of Bahman in the Iranian calendar), a few days after Valentine’s Day.
